Tambour Door Standard Track System
Our Standard Track System is designed for seamless and efficient operation, perfect for a variety of projects, especially popular in campervan and RV shower door applications.
Track Features:
Standard Straight Track with 90-Degree Corner: Ideal for horizontal slide-open configurations, allowing the door to slide along and turn at a 90-degree angle to optimize space usage. It can also be adapted for vertical up-and-over slides by recessing the track into wood or ply and adding a second set of 90-degree corners for the track to turn down the back.
Kit Inclusions:
Each TAMdoûr kit includes two lengths of low-friction straight track, twice the width of your door order, and two 90-degree corners for smooth transitions. These tracks can be easily cut with a hand saw to fit your layout. If you opt for flexible or U-shape spirals, the standard track is replaced with your required track option.
Installation Guidelines:
For Furniture/Cabinets: Recess the track 11mm deep and 16mm wide. The top hat-shaped track means you'll see a 5mm lip on each side of the main channel, which should be set back 5mm from the cabinet edge.
For Hard Surfaces: Bond the track with adhesive, using the pocket channel on the underside for enhanced grip. The track is hidden behind a 12/13mm high upstanding/lip to protect it from being kicked.
Measurement Instructions:
Furniture Vertical Slide: Measure the inside width of your cabinet and add 18mm for track clearance. Check measurements at three heights to ensure level sidewalls.
Hard Surface Horizontal Slide: Measure from the floor to the planned track position at three points, using the smallest measurement to ensure alignment. Ensure the top track doesn't vary more than 5mm to prevent sliding issues.
Installation Tips:
Secure the top track to a batten for stability, ensuring it is parallel and level with the door. Adjust until the door slides smoothly, then fix the batten in place. Minimize the gap between the door top and track to prevent tilting and friction.
Material and Color Options:
Tracks for silver and black doors are black.
Tracks for white doors are white.
