Surface Mounted U Shape Spirals & Track are typically used in a vertical slide open and closed doors system, they allow the door to slide open up into a compact space at the top of the unit / cabinet, especially suitable if you have shelves inside the cabinet. This system can also be used as a horizontal slide open option, sliding into a compact area into the side wall space, they are used less so in this option as this will leave the surface mounted straight track raised on the floor or base of the unit at the opening. (12mm high)
The track & spirals system is very easy to fix in place with holes provided for your screws to hold in place. you must ensure that the spirals are parallel and level to each other for the door to slide evenly.
The spirals are a gravity held system, holding the door up in the spirals, yet some customers do fix a latch behind the door to the side wall for added safety to prevent the door falling close if knocked.
This track option is an upgrade to the standard track system provided in our kit and can be chosen when ordering your door option.
We have 4 different U Shape Spiral types the option we supply with your door will depend on the size of the door sliding into the spirals, you can request any spiral size in the order notes box provided.
Li700 will load up to 700mm of door -
Depth required 360mm and the width of the spiral is 70mm
Li800 will load up to 800mm of door -
Depth required 410mm and the width of the spiral is 70mm
Li1400 will load up to 1400mm of door -
Depth required 410mm and the width of the spiral is 110mm
Li1600 will load up to 1600mm of door -
Depth required 412mm and the width of the spiral is 110mm
The straight track comes in sections of 534mm we provide enough straight track to cover the vertical or horizontal slide and can be easily cut to fit.
Our track and spirals are only available in black and made from a very strong ABS plastic.
How to measure your door for this track system -
Vertical Slide - Measure the net size of your cabinet / unit ( inside side wall to inside side wall ) check the measurements at 3 different heights to ensure the width is the same, use the smaller size (the size must not differ more than 5mm for the risk of the door sliding out of the side tracks. Check the spirals can be fixed level & parallel & will fit in the depth of space, measure front edge of the unit to rear of unit and nothing will prevent to length of the door sliding up into the spirals.
Horizontal Slide - Measure the net size of your cabinet / unit / door way ( floor / base up to were you plan to fix the top spiral & track) check the measurements at 3 different heights to ensure the height is the same use the smaller size (must not differ more than 5mm for risk of door sliding out of the side tracks or getting stuck at the low spot.
We will cut your request door to include the track in your measurements to reduce the need to cut the door yourself, To greatly reduce the need to cut the door you can reduce your measurement by 1-2mm as the track channel is 10mm deep you have room to avoid any need to cut.
